What your birth moon phase says

The moon phase is the angle between the Sun and the Moon. In Vedic terms that same angle gives the tithi. We show both: the Western phase name (new, crescent, quarter, gibbous, full) and the tithi with paksha. Many people like comparing their phase with a partner. Same phase means you run on a similar emotional rhythm, opposite phases often balance each other.

The phase is taken at noon of the date in Indian time if you don't give a time. The Moon moves about 12 degrees a day, so the phase is close enough for a date-level reading.
