About this list

Dates come from the tithi timings at your city. For Ekadashi, Purnima and Amavasya we take the day the tithi is running at sunrise. Pradosh uses the tithi at pradosh (after sunset), Sankashti Chaturthi the tithi at moonrise and Masik Shivratri the tithi at midnight. When a tithi doesn't touch that time on any day, the first day it touches is shown.

Frequently asked questions

How many Ekadashis are in a year?+

Usually 24, and 26 in a year with an Adhik month.

Why does the tithi start the day before?+

Tithis don't follow midnight. A tithi often starts the previous afternoon or evening, and the vrat day is the one it's running at the required time.

Is the date the same everywhere?+

Mostly. Near sunrise boundaries a city in another time zone can get a different date.
