Love Calculator by Nakshatra

A name-based love score with real Vedic logic. Each name's first sound gives a nakshatra, and the two nakshatras are matched on 36 gunas.

Just for fun. Name games don't decide real relationships.

Name nakshatra, the traditional way

In many Indian families a baby's name starts with a syllable picked from the Moon's nakshatra at birth. The table that links the 108 syllables to the 27 nakshatras and their 4 padas is called the Avakahada chakra. Read it backwards and any name gives you a nakshatra and rashi: names starting with "Ra" belong to Chitra, "Pi" to Uttara Phalguni, "A" to Krittika and so on.

That's what this calculator does. It finds the first syllable of both names, looks up the name nakshatra, and runs the same Ashtakoota guna milan used in kundli matching. The score out of 36 is shown as a percentage, with every koota listed.

How accurate is it?

It's more grounded than a random love calculator, because the scoring is the real guna milan. But a name nakshatra is not your birth nakshatra unless your name was chosen that way. For marriage decisions, use kundli matching with birth details. For plain fun, try FLAMES.

Tips

  • Type the name the way it sounds: "Aarav", "Shreya", "Kavya".
  • Hindi script works too: आरव, श्रेया.
  • Nicknames give a different syllable, so use the name you're called by.

Questions people ask

How does the nakshatra love calculator work?+

The first syllable of each name is matched to a nakshatra pada using the Avakahada chakra. The two nakshatras are then scored with Ashtakoota guna milan out of 36, shown as a percentage.

Is this the same as kundli matching?+

It uses the same scoring, but from name nakshatras instead of birth Moon positions, and it skips Mangal dosha.

Can I type names in Hindi?+

Yes. Both English and Devanagari names work.

Why didn't my name match?+

Some spellings don't start with a clear chakra sound. Try spelling it the way it's pronounced.

What is a good score?+

Above 50% (18 of 36 gunas) is traditionally acceptable, 70% and above is good.

Is it free?+

Yes, free with no signup.
