How a yes or no tarot reading works
A yes or no tarot reading is the quickest kind of reading there is. You think of one question, you pull one card, and the card leans towards yes, no or maybe. It's simple, and that's why people like it. When your head is full of "what ifs", one card can cut through the noise and give you something to react to.
Our deck has all 78 cards: the 22 Major Arcana and the 56 Minor Arcana in four suits. Every card has a yes, no or maybe value that most modern readers agree on. Bright, open cards like The Sun, The Star, the Ace of Cups or the Ten of Cups lean yes. Heavy cards like The Tower, the Three of Swords or the Ten of Swords lean no. Cards about waiting, choosing or reflecting, like The Hanged Man, the Two of Swords or the Seven of Pentacles, sit in the middle as a maybe.
What a reversed card does to the answer
If you keep reversals on, about half of the cards can come up upside down. A reversed card usually softens the answer. A yes card reversed becomes a maybe, because the energy is there but something is in the way. A maybe card reversed leans towards no. A no card stays a no. If you'd rather keep things simple, switch reversals off before you shuffle.
How to ask a good yes or no question
The way you ask matters more than you'd think. A few tips that make the answer more useful:
- Ask about yourself. "Should I message him first?" works better than "Does he love me?" because you control your own actions.
- Keep it to one thing. "Should I take the job and move cities?" is really two questions. Split it.
- Use a time frame. "Will I hear back this week?" is clearer than "Will I hear back?".
- Don't keep re-asking. Drawing again and again until you get the answer you want just makes the reading meaningless. Sit with the first answer, then read the advice.

Read the card, not only the verdict
The yes or no is the headline. The card's meaning is the actual story. A "no" from the Four of Swords is really saying "not yet, rest first". A "no" from the Five of Pentacles is about asking for help. A "yes" from the Knight of Wands says go, but don't rush so fast you trip. That's why every answer here comes with the card's keywords, its upright or reversed meaning and one line of advice.
Is a yes or no tarot reading accurate?
Tarot doesn't predict a fixed future, and we don't pretend it does. Think of it as a mirror. The card you pull gives you a theme, and your reaction to it often tells you what you already feel. If you get a "no" and feel relieved, that's useful information. If you get a "yes" and feel nervous, that's useful too.
For big life decisions, use the card as one input among many, alongside facts, advice from people you trust and your own judgement. And if you want a reading that looks at timing from your birth chart, you can ask Mygrah's AI astrologer the same question, based on your kundli.

Tarot questions people ask
Is this yes or no tarot reading free?+
Yes. Drawing a card, the yes or no answer and the full card meaning are free with no signup. There's an optional paid deep AI reading if you want a longer, personal interpretation.
How is the card chosen?+
The deck of 78 cards is shuffled on our server with cryptographic randomness, so nobody, including us, can pick the card for you. Reversed cards are also random.
What does a reversed card mean in a yes or no reading?+
Reversed softens the answer. A yes card becomes a maybe, a maybe leans towards no, and a no stays a no. You can turn reversals off before you shuffle.
Can I ask the same question again?+
You can, but it's better not to. The first card is your answer. Pulling again until you like the result makes the reading less useful.
What kind of question works best?+
A short question about your own actions, with one topic and ideally a time frame. For example: Should I apply for this role this month?
Can tarot predict the future?+
Tarot is a reflection tool and is meant for guidance and fun. It can help you think about a situation, but it doesn't decide what will happen.
