KP Horary Number Calculator (1-249)

Hold one question in mind, pick a number from 1 to 249, and KP horary turns it into an ascendant with its sign, star and sub lords. No birth details needed.

Hold your question in mind and type the first number that comes to you.

Why 249 numbers

In KP (Krishnamurti Paddhati) each nakshatra of 13°20' is split into 9 unequal subs, sized by the Vimshottari years (Ketu 7, Venus 20, Sun 6, Moon 10, Mars 7, Rahu 18, Jupiter 16, Saturn 19, Mercury 17, out of 120), starting from the nakshatra's own lord. Every point in the zodiac therefore has a sign lord, a star lord and a sub lord, and the sub is split again into a sub-sub. KP judges mostly by the sub lord.

27 nakshatras x 9 subs = 243 divisions. Six of them cross a sign boundary and are counted twice, once in each sign, which gives 249. Your number fixes the ascendant at the start of that division. We read the leaning from the sub lord's natural character: Jupiter and Venus favourable, Moon and Mercury conditional, Sun and Mars yes with effort, Saturn, Rahu and Ketu delay. A full KP judgement also weighs the significators of the houses your question touches. Ask one question once; asking the same thing again and again isn't how horary works.

Questions people ask

How do I pick the number?+

Think of your question clearly and type the first number from 1 to 249 that comes to mind. Don't calculate it.

Do I need my birth details?+

No. The number replaces the birth chart for this one question.

Can I ask the same question twice?+

Traditionally no. Ask once, sincerely, and wait for things to change before asking again.

How accurate is the yes or no?+

It's a first reading from the sub lord alone. A full KP reading also looks at house significators and ruling planets.
